Hi!!! Well I made it here safely and all my flights went surprisingly well! I had a whole row to myself on my LAX-AKL (Auckland) flight so I was able to lay down across 3 seats and essentially sleep about 8 hours (of the 12 hr flight), waking up to the cabin lights being turned on and the flight attendants handing out warm towels before serving breakfast. My flight ended up landing about 45 minutes early, which means I was able to catch an earlier connecting flight to Christchurch, NZ, instead of waiting around at the airport for 4 hours! I had been planning to meet KL at the hotel since she would be getting in before me, but since I got in early I was able to meet her after she cleared customs. Turns our her bag was lost by the airline, but they already found it and delivered it so it all worked out!
After relaxing and getting settled in (and contacting our parents of course to let them know we arrived safe and sound) we headed out to explore! Everything here is gorgeous (as you can see from the picture to the right and below, next to a random watermill we found).
So thats it for now! I'm not sure when i'm going to have internet again, but I will try and update this blog as much as possible!
